This Space Intentionally Left Blank

(Linkage) Now Why Didn't I Think of This?

Given that more and more commenting systems have anti-spam/bot systems in place, and more and more seem to have implemented rel="nofollow" in the href tags for posted links, what's a spammer who wants to promote the page rank of their website to do?

The answer, in at least one case, appears to be: get people to post your link for you, and in their own entries at that.

Go to this site and enter a link in the box.  (Be amazed that apparently Google is genius-level!)  Everything looks fine, right?  Now go to the box with the HTML markup and scroll down all the way.  Look at the last two lines of text, namely the stuff between the small tags.

This implementation certainly isn't subtle, but I wouldn't be surprised to see it improved on in the future.

(Ramblings) For an Anti-Social Little Ball of Spikes

It would appear that this isn't turning out to be a good year for me and pets.

As of late, Milo had been showing his age, as he was eating less and wobbling more when he actually deemed to leave his tube.

Around noon today we found him collapsed in his food dish, gasping for breath, and he passed away shortly thereafter.

Young Milo

That's the first picture I took after I brought him home almost 4 years ago.

(Linkage) I Think This Speaks For Itself

"On one of my cards it said I had to find temperatures lower than -8. The numbers I uncovered were -6 and -7 so I thought I had won, and so did the woman in the shop. But when she scanned the card the machine said I hadn't.
"I phoned Camelot and they fobbed me off with some story that -6 is higher - not lower - than -8 but I'm not having it.
"I think Camelot are giving people the wrong impression - the card doesn't say to look for a colder or warmer temperature, it says to look for a higher or lower number. Six is a lower number than 8. Imagine how many people have been misled."

Surprisingly, this is not a quote from The Onion.
