By Any Other Name
For those of you who didn't notice, version 0.8 of Phoenix Firebird Firefox was released this morning.
The main mozilla.org server is bogged down at the time of writing this, but I had no trouble with the ISC's mirror in California. At least now people don't have to worry about installing a DBMS by mistake.
Today's title: 1 point.
They renamed it AGAIN? I would have went with flamingbird. But thats uh... you know.
And its an honest name confusing mistake. Cmon now :)
And is your title the classic question about whether a rose would smell as sweet were it named by any other name? Or I am going to deep?
Yes, it is that quote, but I need more info here.
They claim that this name should hopefully be the final one. I find it odd that they went from two different birds to a panda.
Yeah. They could have named it.. uh.. Hmm. FireAnimalThatMustHaveWingsAlthoughItMayNotNeedToFlyLikeAPenguinOrAnOstrich
Can you Imagine googling THAT?
And I have no idea where the quote comes from. Someone can slide in for the steal. Dammit!
Haha!! My text overlaps the border!!
Romeo & Juliet, Act II Scene II. It's from Juliet's balcony monologue, in which she's essentially ranting about how much it sucks that he's a Montague.
"...O, be some other name!
What's in a name? That which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet.
So Romeo would, were he not Romeo call'd,
Retain that dear perfection which he owes
Without that title."
One point for Nancy, and Derek breaks the scrolling by making a word too long. Bad Derek! Bad!
I may as well post the totals:
MEAT: 4 points
Nancy: 2 points
Peter: 2 points
Derek: 1 point
I'd like to remind you there IS still a swimsuit competition.
So I.. aww, crap, nancy's in this too, isnt she? Rats.
Besides, i was just giving firefox a gnomish name.
A Gnomish name? What are you, some kind of GNOME hippie? =)
Well, I dunno. I have heard that you're very sexy in a swimsuit.
It really depends on how drunk you are by the time I hit the beach. And anyone who doesnt get the gnome reference hasnt read dragonlance, and should at least read the 10-12 books that comprimise the core of the series. But I dont even think Wiess and Hickman know all the books that are in it total.
