Music Is My Saviour
Right, I'm a little late with this entry, but I feel the need to post it anyways. Basically, if you've been in a cave for the past couple of days, the Canadian Copyright Board ruled that downloading music tracks off of the Internet was not illegal, so long as those tracks were for personal use only. Of course, uploading is still illegal and the various recording industries are expected to challenge it.
This comes in conjunction with their decision to impose a levy of up to $25 on portable MP3 players. In other words: Better buy your iPod now (or Nomad, or rebranded Nomad… I mean Digital Jukebox) and start your downloading!
Here's a couple of links to news reports on the decision, courtesy of News.com and MacCentral.
I think I may have posted something along these lines before.
On a completely unrelated note, I see that the Rapture Index has sunk below 145. This moves us out of 'Fasten Your Seatbelts' and into the 'High Prophetic Activity' category for the first time in at least 6 years. Don't bother repenting, the end is not so nigh!
As if you needed another reason to be glad to be a canadian.
You can break your leg walking down the street because you were listening to downloaded music and didnt hear the car horn, AND get free health care to boot.
I love this country. *tears*
It's down to 137, now. I may as well go kill some innocent, it's not like Judgement Day will be anytime soon.
Uh... we were supposed to be trying to lower it?
Hmm. Anyone wanna buy 1 billion dollars worth of weapons of destruction?
Hey. You think the US army is gonna hunt me and andrew down now for this post?
Cause I can hide in a hole much better than some other people I know.
Ahh, but can you grow that awesome beard?
Hey! Come on now! None of that here!
...At least not without my usual 30% commission.
