Displeasure

I'm growing increasingly unsatisfied with the layout/colour scheme for this site. (In my mind, the two are inexorably linked, so changing one implies changing the other.) Anyone got any suggestions on what I could possibly do to change it?

How about dark red on navy?

I would suggest more white backgrounds, and black text, and large sans-serif fonts, and rounder corners, and graphics that look like they're shining, and AJAX that's capable of making me coffee and providing intelligent dinner conversation.
